The World Is Ending is a modern adaptation of the Boy Cries Wolf, reimagined into a fictional animated opening sequence. Jonathan Richards (who goes by Johnny Rich) spreads misinformation that a meteor is heading straight to Oak Falls.  Civilians only have a limited time to evacuate or make their peace. Bunkers are made, end-of-world parties are in full swing, people are cowering, buildings are burning down, and more madness is endured. Word comes out that Johnny Rich lied about the situation and is shunned out of the town. He catches wind that a meteor is actually coming and now must try to convince everyone that he is not lying this time.
